Command reference
Every WT Scout command for War Thunder squadron battles
Six slash commands and one button. Two of them are setup and need the Manage Server permission; the rest are for everyone in the server. All commands work only inside a server, never in DMs, and every one of them is gated behind /setsquad until a squadron is set.
| Command | What it does | Who |
|---|---|---|
| /scout | The enemy line-up from a player's latest squadron battle; optionally both teams as a scoreboard image | Everyone |
| /setsquad | Which squadron this server tracks. Required first. | Manage Server |
| /setlog | Auto-post every finished battle and the session summary to a channel | Manage Server |
| /logstatus | Where this server's battle logs go | Everyone |
| /endsession | Post the session summary now instead of waiting for the idle timer | Everyone |
| /help | The quick-start guide and this command list, inside Discord | Everyone |
| 🎥 Render video | Button under every logged battle: a top-down timelapse of the match | Everyone |
/scout — a squadron battle's enemy composition
Name any player, exactly as shown in game, and WT Scout finds that player's latest squadron battle on the official replay portal, reads the replay, and posts the enemy team's vehicle line-up: which tanks, anti-air, fighters and helicopters they brought, and how many of each. Run it during a battle with an opponent's name and you are looking at the team you are fighting.
- player — required. The in-game name of any player in the battle, yours or theirs.
- full:true — both teams instead of just the opposition, rendered as a scoreboard image: vehicle art, the MVP and first-blood badges, the map as the background, and a definitive win/loss line read from the replay. The image carries a render-video button too.
Rate limit: 5 scouts per server per minute.
/setsquad — which squadron this server tracks
The first command to run in a new server, and the only one that is required. Give the squadron's full name, not its tag, exactly as it appears on warthunder.com/community: Night Hawks, not NHWK. Until it is set, every other command answers with a reminder to run this one.
Needs the Manage Server permission.
/setlog — the battle log that writes itself
Turns on automatic logging for the squadron set with /setsquad. From then on every finished squadron battle posts its own both-teams scoreboard to the channel about 10–15 minutes after the match ends, and a session summary closes out the night.
- channel — where to post. Leave it blank to use the channel you are typing in.
- enabled:false — turns logging off. There is one log channel per server, so turning it off needs no channel name.
The session summary posts roughly an hour after the last battle and contains the win–loss record, every battle and who it was against with the enemy composition, squadron rating and leaderboard position measured from the start of the session to the end, and your players ranked by score with their personal rating change.
While logging is on, the log channel also gets one message when a new week of the SQB season starts: the new maximum battle rating and next week's, taken from the official forum schedule. If the schedule cannot be read with confidence, nothing is posted.
Needs the Manage Server permission.
/logstatus — where the logs go
Shows whether logging is on for this server, which channel it points at, and which squadron it is tracking. The first thing to check when nothing seems to be posting.
/endsession — close the night now
Posts the session summary immediately instead of waiting for the one-hour idle timer, and closes the session so the timer cannot post it a second time. Battles that finished in the last few minutes may not be published on the replay portal yet; the reply tells you how many are outstanding, and running the command again a few minutes later folds them in.
- force:true — close the session even though recent battles are still publishing. They land in a new session afterwards.
Rate limit: 2 per server every 10 minutes.
/help — the guide, inside Discord
The two-step setup and every command above, as a message only you can see. The same message is posted automatically when the bot joins a server.
🎥 Render video — the replay as a timelapse
Every logged battle, and every /scout full:true result, carries a Render video button. Pressing it renders the whole match as a top-down timelapse video, every spawn, push and capture in motion, and posts it in the channel. Renders are button-only; there is no slash command for them.
Where the data comes from
All of it is read from the replay that War Thunder publishes for every squadron battle on its official replay portal, plus the public squadron page for rating and leaderboard position. WT Scout never asks for anyone's War Thunder login and installs nothing in the game. New here? Start with the setup guide.
