Setup guide
How to set up a War Thunder SQB bot in your squadron's Discord
WT Scout takes about a minute to set up: add it to your server, tell it which squadron you are, and point it at a channel. From then on every squadron battle your squadron plays posts its own scoreboard, and anyone can scout an enemy line-up with one command.
What you need: the Manage Server permission in your Discord, your squadron's full name as it appears on warthunder.com/community, and a channel for the battle log. You do not need anyone's War Thunder login, and nothing is installed in the game.
Add WT Scout to Discord
Use the button below and pick your squadron's server. The bot only needs permission to post in the channel you give it. When it joins, it posts a quick-start message with the same steps as this page.
Set your squadron
An admin runs /setsquad with your squadron's full name, not the short tag. For a squadron tagged NHWK whose name is Night Hawks, that is:
The name has to match the squadron's page on warthunder.com/community exactly. Every other command unlocks once this is set, so each server identifies its squadron before the bot spends any effort on it.
Turn on the battle log
Pick a channel and run:
That is the whole setup. Leave the channel blank to use the one you are typing in. /setlog enabled:false turns logging off again, and /logstatus shows where this server's logs are going.
Try a scout
Anyone in the server can now name a player and get the enemy line-up from that player's latest squadron battle:
Add full:true to get both teams rendered as a scoreboard image instead of just the opposition.
What happens next
- Every finished battle posts its both-teams scoreboard to the log channel about 10–15 minutes after the match ends. That delay is how long War Thunder takes to publish the replay the bot reads.
- A session summary follows roughly an hour after the last battle: the win–loss record, every battle and who it was against, squadron rating and leaderboard movement from the start of the night to the end, and your players ranked by score. /endsession posts it immediately.
- A render button sits under every logged battle. One click turns the replay into a top-down timelapse video of the whole match.
- The weekly SQB max BR change is announced once in the log channel when a new week of the season starts, along with next week's BR.
The command reference covers every option.
Troubleshooting
“Set a squadron first with /setsquad”
Every command is gated behind /setsquad. Run it once, with the Manage Server permission, and the rest of the bot unlocks for the whole server.
The squadron name is not accepted
Use the full squadron name, not the tag, spelled exactly as on the squadron's page at warthunder.com/community. The tag in the brackets (NHWK) is not the name (Night Hawks).
Nothing has posted yet
Battles appear 10–15 minutes after they end, because that is when War Thunder publishes the replay. Check /logstatus to confirm logging is on and which channel it points at, and make sure the bot can post there.
The session summary posted before the night was over
The summary closes after about an hour with no new battles. If the next battle lands after that, it simply starts a new session. You can also close a session on purpose at any time with /endsession.
Privacy
WT Scout never asks for War Thunder credentials and never touches the game client. Everything it posts is read from the replay War Thunder publishes for every squadron battle on its official replay portal, the same pages anyone can open in a browser. It is free, and it is not affiliated with Gaijin Entertainment.
